The Ascent from Not
Belief
As we have been ascending from the core of the Self which is the Spirit-Consciousness, we have not needed beliefs. But as we continue to rise, we will eventually be leaving the Sea of Self and interacting with other people out in the Landscape of Being. In the Landscape of Being, we will see that Beliefs will drive us to act or react in certain ways.
It is here, in our ascent, that we may choose which beliefs we want to add back into the Self. One way to determine which beliefs we would like to add back into the Self is to ask ourselves how we want to be in the Landscape of Being. In other words, how do we want to act and react? Once we have an idea of how we want to be in the Landscape of Being, we can look at which Beliefs may direct those actions and reactions.
Ascent VIII
Belief
Depicted here is a scene with a blue sky, clouds, a sun, snowcapped mountains, and a structure nestled between trees. High above is a star in the sky. The sky with the star, sun and clouds, along with the trees and mountains below, all represent Paradigms of Thought. These can be simple ideas or they can be extremely large Structures such as religions, ideologies or philosophies. In the top-left corner of this card is the AON symbol for Belief indicating that this trump is part of the Self Well.
The building in the center represents your own Belief Structure with its walls, doors, windows, hallways and various rooms. The Structure of Belief is a metaphor for the complexity of our beliefs as people who interact with each other and the Landscape of Being on a day-to-day basis. The Structure of Belief rests upon the Foundation of Belief.
The Foundation of Belief represents very deep and core beliefs. Foundational beliefs can support one or more Structures of Belief. Finally, the Foundation is installed within the Ground of Reality. The Ground of Reality is not necessarily the same for everyone and is often taken for granted so blindly that it is never even thought of as something that might not be real.

Belief
Will.
As we begin to establish our Ground of Reality and Foundation of Belief, we might consider how strong we want our foundation to be. Before adding a brick to the Foundation, ask yourself if you can break or crack it? Can anyone else? If you or someone else can break or crack this brick of belief, consider leaving it out of your Foundation for now. If it cannot be broken or cracked, it is an excellent brick for the Foundation of Belief.
