The Ascent from Not

The Tree of Not

Here we begin to understand that we are developing (or re-developing) into a Whole Self. All of the layers we have added on since the spark of the Spirit-Consciousness in Key 4 have begun to meld together and we now understand that we are both a spiritual and physical Being. We will need to develop some Principles as we move toward the Landscape of Being. Which Values should we add back in on our Ascent? We can start by answering this question: What is the most important thing in the universe?

Not Tarot Card - Key 10: The Tree of Not

Ascent X

The Tree of Not

The Tree of Not floats in inverted space. At the base of the Tree is another inversion: a figure in a meditative pose. In the center of the figure’s chest (where dan tien is found) is the sixteen-pointed dual overlay of Ardentis Animae and Tranquillitas Animae (this is the fire within and the inner-calm which helps direct the raging fire of spirit). In the top-left corner is the AON symbol for The Tree indicating that this trump is part of the Self Well.

The Tree represents Principles (or Values) which we develop from having folded together Authorization for Being and Action (from Key 5), Morality (from Key 6), a course of action (from Key 7), Beliefs (from Key 8) and a basic understanding of the fantastic mysteries of the cosmos (from Key 9).

The Tree of Not

Know.

There is sometimes a gray path leading by the Tree of Not which we may walk. The path is gray because it is neither a Good nor Evil path but instead it is both. While climbing the Tree develops our Principles, walking the path will test them. What are the Principles and Values that we base our decisions on? What are the assumptions that have developed from our values? And where did these values come from? Did we inherit our values from our parents or society at large? Are there any of these Values or Principles we should not add back into the Self as we ascend?
