The Ascent from Not
The World
We have reached the top of the Well of the Self which is "Who" we are. Here we are perfectly complete as an entire Self. Just like any other Self we may encounter in the Landscape of Being, we are a complete Self, replete with layers of principles, wonder, beliefs, morals, and sanction to be here, all driven by a flowing wellspring of energy which is the Spirit-Consciousness. And all of this is resting on an unshakeable foundation which descends deeper than the fundamental building blocks of reality - a foundation which rests on the very floor of Actuality.

The World
An abstract above view of someone’s head shows the image in the mind’s eye of a person with their arms cast into the air as if to celebrate the bliss of freedom. The large sea beyond looks like the Ocean of Consciousness we find in the Landscape of Being. The person celebrating their freedom can choose to return to the Ocean and the Sea of Self or explore the Landscape of Being. In the top-left corner is the AON symbol for The World indicating that this trump is part of the Self Well. In fact, the World card represents the very top of the Well of the Self. This card completes the layer stack which is the entire Self.
This card represents “completion in the middle.” In the Ascent through the Major Arcana, we have answered the question of "Who?" The remained of the Major Arcana (Keys 12 - 25) address the question of "What?"

The World layer is a wonderful place to rest in contemplation. This one Key is representative of the entire inner-World of the Self. Everything beneath us is here and everything outside of us is reflected here. In fact, some might argue that in truth the Reality outside is only really real here in the inner-Self.
This is the achievement of the climb from Not to the top of the Well of the Self. Here, we realize the completeness of our inner-Self (this is our inner-World) is only missing one thing: integration with the World around us. To go any further than this will require us to ascend to the next Key above us and enter the Landscape of being.
